Checking Your Registration
Step 1:
On the homepage of the site, enter your home address into the search bar and click on the “Get Started” button.
Step 2:
Next click on the "Check your voter registration" option
Step 3:
Choose a pathway depending on if you are registering to vote or checking your voter registration status.
Registering to Vote
Click on the "Register to Vote" tile. Then click "Next".
Select how you would want to register: online, through mail, on Election Day, at your early voting location, or at your local election office.
You can:
- Select "Register on election portal" and then click "Next". This will redirect you to your state's registration tool
- Select "Download a Registration form", enter your email address, and then click "Next". Check your email for the form and follow the instructions provided.
- Select "Register on Election Day" and then click "Next". Here you will received instructions on requirements for registering on Election Day at your polling location, if available in your state.
- Select "Register at your early voting location" and then click "Next". Here you will receive instructions on requirements for registering at your early voting location, if available in your state.
- Select "Register at election office" and then click "Next". This will redirect you to your state election authority's website to help you find a local office near you.
Checking Your Voter Registration Status
Click on "Check my voter registration status". Then, click Next.
Enter in your first name, last name, and year of birth "optional". Then, click "Verify".
- If you're registered, you'll see a screen that says "You're registered here" (below). You can click "Next" and then enter in your email and phone number if you want to be updated about deadlines and next steps
- If you're not registered, you'll see a screen that says that it doesn't see a match for the address provided (below).
You'll have the option to (1) register through Secretary of State's website, (2) verify your registration through your state's voter registration tool, OR (3) you can continue the process of making a plan to vote if you're 100% sure you're registered at the address you provided.
- Make your choice, click "Next". You'll be prompted to enter in your email so more information can be sent.
