Setting Up User Data Exports

This article is to help customers set up their user data exports, which can be set up through a Google Drive folder or an Amazon S3 bucket

Setting up Basic User Data: 

  1. To set up a basic user data export, first log into CivicEngine Manage
  2. Navigate to the lefthand sidebar and click Data Exports
  3. Click the blue “Set up data location” button below the Basic User Data section pictured below: Screenshot 2024-06-27 at 9.51.53 AM
  4. Select how you want to receive your User Data export  
    1. If setting up Google Drive, follow these steps below:
      • Select the “Google Drive folder”
      • Share your Google Drive folder with clickstream-to-google-drive@ballotready-2020.iam.gserviceaccount.com as an editor.

    2. If setting up S3 bucket, follow these steps
      • Select “Amazon S3 bucket”
      • Copy and paste the S3 bucket name into the text box pictured below 
      • Click on the “Copy” button to copy the bucket policy code. Then, paste it into your own bucket policy: Screenshot 2024-06-27 at 11.34.32 AM
  5. When finished with the above instructions, click Save
  6. Check to see if the correct name is shown for Data Delivery Location

Exporting Clickstream Data

  1. To set up your Clickstream Data export, first log into CivicEngine Manage
  2. Navigate to the sidebar and click Data Exports
  3. Click the blue “Set up data location” button below the Clickstream data section pictured below: Screenshot 2024-06-27 at 11.36.57 AM
  4. Select how you want to receive your User Data export 
    1. If setting up Google Drive, follow these steps below:
      1. Select the “Google Drive folder”
      2. Share your Google Drive folder with clickstream-to-google-drive@ballotready-2020.iam.gserviceaccount.com as an editor.

    1. If setting up S3 bucket, follow these steps
      • Select “Amazon S3 bucket"
      • Copy and paste the S3 bucket name into the text box pictured below: Screenshot 2024-06-27 at 11.38.42 AM
      • Click on the “Copy” button to copy the bucket policy code. Then, paste it into your own bucket policy
  1. When finished with the above instructions, click Save
After saving check to make sure that the Data Delivery Location is the correct name
