Understanding the Usage Data Dashboard

The Usage Data Dashboard counts every user who enters their address in your Civic Center Widget and clicks “Get Started”. It is expected that the Usage Data Dashboard visitor count and the session count in your clickstream data could be different. You can learn more about clickstream data here.

Visitors

The visitor count updates every time a new address is inputted -- this means that one person on the same BallotReady site entering two different addresses (for example, to first research their ballot at their current address and then look up candidate information in their hometown) will be counted as two visitors.

What do all of these graphics mean?

This map shows how many site visits have occurred over a selected amount of time. You can view a specific day’s site traffic by hovering your cursor over the line on the graph.

You can edit the specific time frame you would like to see in this section pictured above, as well as specifying a state or UTM code for which you would like to see the visitors graph displayed. For example, if you’d like to see traffic over time from users just from Texas during the month of October, you can specify those parameters and the graph will update accordingly.

For each of the date ranges, you can select “Today” and adjust from there, or type in the date of your preference (i.e. you do not need to select the date from the menu by clicking).

The above image shows the number and percentage of visitors from any given State.

You can toggle between State, County, City and Zip Code by clicking the drop down menu in the top right of this chart (where it says “State” and selecting City, County, or Zip Code instead).

This table allows you to track which UTMs are driving the traffic to your BallotReady site. This table can be filtered by any UTM parameter (campaign, content, medium, source and term). Here's a link to our support article UTM and QR codes.
