How Does It Work?
BallotReady researches over 200+ elections nationwide each year to provide high quality, nonpartisan voter guides for users. Check out our Coverage Timeline for this quarter's upcoming elections. Information about the next quarter's elections is available six weeks ahead of the next quarter.
The Ballot Engine allows users to research candidates and build their ballots ahead of time or while they're working on their early voting ballots. Once users have made their ballot selections for each position and/or measure, they can view their ballot with the option to email or print their ballot.
By clicking "Next," users will be given the option to share their ballot via Instagram, Facebook or Twitter or Make a Plan to Vote.
Important Note: Users ballot selections will not be saved or shared with the organization in any way. See how the Ballot Engine data will appear in your user data in our User Data Dictionary.
Voter Guide
In our Voter Guide configuration, users will see all possible candidates and measures that could appear on their ballot within our coverage area (see more detail here about BallotReady Tiers).
On average, our candidate research is completed 30 days ahead of election day. Until that research is complete, the Ballot Engine tile will appear as it does in the righthand image with a warning that the information is coming soon.
Slate Card
Our Slate Card configuration is designed to display an organization's endorsed candidates. Unlike the Voter Guide, the slate card will only show candidates and measures your organization has endorsed through our Endorsement Tool. Without endorsements, your site's ballot tile will appear empty to users.
On average, our candidate research is completed 30 days ahead of election day. Until that research is completed or your organization has input endorsements early, the Slate Card tile will appear as it does in the righthand image with a warning that the information is coming soon.
